hello

i havent written here in a while.
i'm writing a story (not online) but it fails completely. i don't type stories that often, instead i hand-write them. it works better for me

so many people in my school have made blogs... it's kinda freaky.
i just can't keep on writing every day. my life is boring and dull and very average. there's nothing that i can use to keep my nonexistent readers entertained...

maybe if something worthwhile happens in my boring life, i might post.

bye.

(btw im not doing band next year, im writing this here because a certain person asked)

my strange obsession with reading.

Lately, I've been reading a lot and HATING all those books.
I just find it so annoying that all the books written for teenage girls are so... mindless.
They all have the same plot: popular girls who become cheerleaders and get popular boyfriends and spend every hour of the day shopping at some mall, trying to look pretty or trendy or whatever.
None of these girls are shy or klutzy or not-exactly-the-prettiest-looking or imperfect in any way. They're all supermodels, sculpted to perfection. It scares me sometimes.
And what I've noticed is that there aren't any of them from "racial minorities" like me. (although since a lot of people at school are indian, i don't get how i'm in a minority group...)
They're so... unhuman. And unrelatable.
There are some good books though... like Divergent and Insurgent and the Hunger Games series. And some really good books no one's ever heard of, like Seraphina by Rachel Hartman. It's this awesome book about dragons that turn into humans and a musically gifted girl that's half dragon and half human... I happen to like scifi/fantasy books; don't ask why :P
That's why I never go to the teen section at the library. The books suck, and there are a lot of scary high school kids hanging around and reading the sucky books. And I'm just this tall but wimpy seventh grader.
If I write a book, I'll not make it so cliche-ish. Which is why I have to leave right now: to write a book. I have an idea, too. Maybe I'll post a bit later...

i got braces...

and they hurt. Plus, I look like a freak.
I know this is a short post.
Oh no, my computer's gonna explode~

A few hours later...
Haha, yay, I'm writing more.
My computer's just fine. I used my unicorn stalker skills to revive it.
And my braces still hurt. I'd post a pic of me but I don't want y'all stalking me.
So...
I have a really bad case of writer's block.
I don't know what to write next.
Bye~~~~~~~~~~~~ (lol i love those little thingies)

By the way...
SPRING BREAK.
I'm bored.

my "awesome" language arts essay

My teacher was being mean to her fifth period because of some people who were being loud (COUGHCOUGHCOUGH not me) and made us do this essay. Mine's weird. It's exactly 400 words :D

When you have a substitute teacher in school, it is important to be on your best behavior. This is because the substitute probably hasn’t been to Miller Middle School before and might come again if he or she learns about how amazing the kids are here. If we are being loud and disruptive, the substitute teacher might think that all kids here are like that. The next time he or she sees anything Miller-related, he or she will think, “Oh, look, it is Joaquin Miller Middle School. That is where I was the substitute teacher for a fifth period full of hyper, talkative, loud-mouthed kids.” No one would want their school to be associated with something like this, which is why good behavior is essential when dealing with a substitute teacher.
You shouldn’t take advantage of the fact that your favorite teacher isn’t in the classroom to keep a constant watch over you. If you misbehave, your substitute teacher will take a note of it and send it to your normal teacher, who will punish you when he or she returns to school. Remember that the substitute teacher is confused because he or she doesn’t know exactly how your regular teacher runs things. The substitute teacher is doing his or her best to run a classroom, and you have to try and help him or her. Taking advantage of a substitute teacher is just inconsiderate and mean.
Behaving really well can sometimes be very hard. Maybe you just ate too much sugar and are bouncing off the walls. The substitute teacher might pronounce your name wrong, scream way too loud and turn off lights to get attention, act weird, or not run things the way you’re used to. You just might be having a bad day, and want to get some of that horrible feeling out. Don’t treat substitute teachers meanly, though; they sometimes have no idea what they’re doing because it might be their first time substitute teaching.
The next time you feel like taking advantage of a poor, helpless substitute teacher, try to put yourself in his or her point of view. How would you like it if you were stuck in front of a class of hyper students, trying to pound a language arts lesson into their distracted heads? From now on, just try to show some sympathy for substitute teachers by not taking advantage of them.

how to not fail at hurdles (mostly for anchal because we're running in track together)

  • Run fast. Really fast.
  • Don't jump too high or too low.
  • Don't shuffle your steps right before jumping.
  • Make sure your starting blocks are the right way. If you use them, that is.
  • Stay in your lane. Don't awkwardly stick your foot out to the side.
  • Go over the top of the hurdle, not the side.
  • Don't look behind you every five seconds.
  • If you don't see black, don't attack (don't jump over the wrong side).
  • Don't space out and forget when to start running.
  • Try not to die in the middle of the race.
  • Sprint at the end because there aren't any hurdles there.
  • Tie your shoes.
  • Most of all, don't fall down. You'll do fine.

issues with band

If the school year wasn't almost done, I'd drop band.
Just like S did.
Because the teacher picks on me. I think she's biased.
I didn't play today, and when I did, it was so soft even I couldn't hear. I almost got a CBR for playing soft.
Before, my teacher used to scream at me for being loud. Well, she can't do that anymore xD
Her favorite kid is this annoying and (slightly) fat dude who acts like he's the only person in the class. And he always has to use my music.
He's the section leader.
Once, I was the only one in my section who was ready
She screamed, "MEERA. Get. Ready. Now. Or else."
And the (slightly) fat section leader was spacing out and the teacher didn't care.
Why do people hate me?

elective night

It was so much fun!
I performed and didn't mess up.
Someone might have squeaked, but other than that it was really good :D
I DIDNT FAIL ON SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION! :D YAYZ
Shuyang and I walked around singing CHOIR songs while wearing BAND uniforms!
I had her flute and she had my drumsticks. She screamed "YEAH I'M A DRUMMER BOW DOWN TO ME!!!"
We saw Annie/Anne of Green Gables/Isa (the same person xD) and these stalkers from the swim team in choir.
We walked in front of them and sang the Bumblebee song (from choir. THEY ALL SAY YOU CANT FLY...) really loud.
I taught Shuyang "Gift to be Simple" (tis the gift to be simple tis the gift to be free... etc) and me and her and Annie were walking around screaming the words in each other's faces.

my amazing math project

Isn't it so pretty? It took me three days, and countless hours each day spent sewing and threading that stupid needle. And it's not due until Friday, but I just finished because I didn't want to take my supplies to school. I don't get why we had to sew in math. But it was actually kinda fun xD

The front, which is, apparently, the only side that matters.

The beautifully awesome back ;)

a random post :D

I have nothing better to do now.
And I haven't posted in forever.
Whatever, I'm posting now xD
Sigh. I'm chatting Vaish now
and she's in India being an eighth grader as of tomorrow
and I'm just this wimpy little sevie.
And she's 5 months younger than me.
Hm... I was gonna say something but I forgot...
Oh, yeah. I'm doing choir next year.
Advanced choir.
Because Anchal is forcing me.
If I don't get into band, I'm trying out for choir.
And if I don't get into choir (which will probably happen) I'm gonna do random electives! :D
Still, band people can be really awesome sometimes.
Jason the Oreo is in my jazz band class.
Thanks to him, I'll never say Oreo with a straight face again xD
And he forced me to do a flute/sax duet and I didn't squeak for a whole day :O
Yes, this fails.
Don't state the obvious ;)

why i am nervous

I have this thing called the TVU test today.
TVU = Tamil Virtual University. Basically, Tamil is this foreign language I'm learning and I'm at an "advanced" level so I have to do this extra course and take a test which is REALLY hard which is why I AM GOING TO FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!
But I still have issues with reading. I can speak and understand and write just fine, but reading is just so hard. There are so many letters you need to memorize. Like, there are 12 "vowels" (உயிà®°் எழுத்துகள்) and 18 "consonants" (à®®ெய் எழுத்துகள்) and all the other letters are combinations of consonants and vowels. (உயிà®°்à®®ெய் எழுத்துகள்). So that's 246 letters I need to know.
There are two letters for the "ra" sound (ர and ற) but the first one is "soft" and the second is "hard". And there are three "na" letters (ண, ந, and ன,) but the second one normally goes at the beginning of a word, and the first one is "hard" and the third AND second are "soft".
There's a lot of other stuff like that which I keep forgetting. Like, vowels can only go at the beginning of a word, not anywhere else. So if you have to combine two words and the second one starts with a vowel, you have to make a combination of the consonant "ya" (ய) and that vowel and put that in the middle of the word instead of the vowel.
Oh, and conjunctions are weird. There's no word for "and," but there's a suffix (um/உம் ) that goes at the end of each of the words you're joining (like in "the cat and the rat," the words would be "cat" + "rat") and based on the last letter of the words, you have to modify the suffix.
Basically, it's confusing and there are too many rules.
I'm gonna fail.

i got into web

Yay.
If you already forgot what WEB is, it's this thing where I have to help pixies get used to middle school.
So many of my best friends (Aishu the Trombone Butterfly, Leeya, Janvi, etc.) and my sis are gonna be pixies next year. That's why I wanted to do this whole WEB thing.
Sunny told me that it's all tiresome and pixies are hard to handle. Whatever. My sis is one of them. But she can be annoying =P

i wrote something!

YAY! I WROTE A STORY which isn't finished! yeah, i just love cliffhangers... xD

It’s so quiet that her heartbeat sounds like a loud bass drum in her chest. She doesn’t know how she got to this abandoned island. She doesn’t know who she is or where she came from. Her last memory is of complete darkness and a longing to get back home, wherever that is. She sees the ocean surrounding her. Should she try to swim to the nearest populated land? No, she’s only a frail little twelve-year-old girl who is too young to get eaten by the ferocious sharks that patrol these waters. But if only she had a raft… There aren’t many trees on this island. If there were trees, at least she could build a boat of some sort and find other people. ‘That’s just a distant dream,’ she thinks. ‘I’ll be stuck here for the rest of my life, abandoned and starving, with no recollection of anywhere but here." A single tear falls from her eye as she stares out to what might possibly be her home. Drying her eyes on her worn-out shirt, she walks closer to the center of the island. There's a human handprint, larger than her own, in the sand. An abandoned fire pit is found right next to it. "Someone's here," she thinks.

Hungry, tired, and thirsty, the girl explores her island home. It's not a very big patch of land, taking her only ten minutes to walk from one coast to the other. When she reaches the other coast, she's shocked: there's a huge cave, fully stocked with delicious fruits and fresh, purified water. She walks in and sits on the cold, hard floor, only to see someone walk out of it. It's definitely human, and when the shadow gets closer, she can tell it's another girl, a few years older than her. The stranger's eyes are an intense blue as they focus on the tired girl. "Who are you?" the stranger asks, in perfect English. "And what are you doing here?" The younger girl, finally remembering how to speak, replies, "I don't know who I am or why I'm stranded on this island." The older girl's glare softens, and she manages a smile. "All right, then. Just call me... Jane. It's a nice and normal-sounding name. I haven't needed a name for ages. I've been living on my own here for a while now, so it's nice to not be so lonely anymore. What can I call you? Kelly, maybe? Yes, you certainly look like a Kelly..." The younger girl likes the name Kelly, so she just nods her head quietly, mystified by Jane's suddenly loquacious manner.

Kelly and Jane end up getting along fairly well, but neither of them has any recollection of a place to call home. Kelly finds out that the handprint and fire pit she saw on her first day here aren't Jane's because the hand is too big to belong to her. 'Someone else is here. Someone who could be the kindliest person ever, or a menacing stranger. I sure hope it's not a menacing stranger...' Kelly says to herself. Her thoughts are interrupted by Jane's footsteps. "Kelly. I need to show you something right now. Follow me." Jane sounds slightly elated and slightly overwhelmed, but her eyes still sparkle mischievously. Kelly follows her only friend into the cave that they called their home for so long. "We don't know this island as well as we think we do, Kelly," Jane says quietly as she leads her into the depths of the cave. The girls walk through a labyrinth of twisting, menacing hallways. "I've never been this deep into the cave. I was starting to get.... scared. That's why I asked you to come with me. For some reason, you make me feel safe." Jane's whispering now, clutching Kelly's arm in the darkness as she navigates along the passages. They keep on walking until they come to a huge boulder. "Doesn't look like an ordinary boulder to me," whispers Jane. Kelly nods in agreement, attempting to pick up the giant rock. To her amazement, it's as light as paper. "It's no real rock, probably a decoy," she whispers to Jane, putting the false boulder aside. There's another passageway, and Kelly and Jane follow it. It's not very long, but there's something surprising at the end...

If you read my fail writing, congrats.
I'm supposed to be practicing but E flat is really bugging me so I took a break and wrote a story.
Sigh.
Everyone always says, "Wow! Percussion is, like, totally cool and stuff!" Well, it isn't. Face it. I either have really fast notes which are impossible or sooo many measures of rest.
Lucky wind instrument people.

i need a new story idea!

It's been so long since I wrote something and showed it to someone else.
I'm working on this story which I'll never type up or show to anyone. It's kinda... private.
I seriously need a new story that isn't so private or demented.
Once, I told a story idea to my sis. It was about a girl whose parents had been accidentally arrested.
My sis screamed "NOOO! I don't want Mommie and Daddy to get arrested! I HATE YOU!!!!!"
Seriously?!
It's. A. Freaking. Story.

cmea solo and ensemble festival (jenny should have gotten command performance!!!!!!)

IT WAS AWESOME!!!!! we got a superior!
That's because I played soft. REALLLY soft.
I practiced three times. Literally.
Volunteering was fun, though.
I had to "escort" people to their performance rooms.
There was this awesome little eighth grader with me.
We wandered around and stalked random pixies! :D
And then we went on a sugar high.
And then we drew on my music and destroyed it completely :)
Aarushi was there too.
It was really awesome.
I listened to Jenny and the random person perform.
She was amazing.
I'm surprised she didn't get Superior / Command Performance.
She only got Excellent because the other guy's reed wasn't good.
I'm going to tell everyone at school how awesome Jenny is. :D
She had a sparkly blue dress xD

cmea dress rehearsal

OK, it wasn't really a dress rehearsal because I wore normal clothes. :P
I MESSED UP SOOOOO BAD AND IT WAS IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE CLASS AND I HAD TO PLAY THIS ANNOYING TIMPANI PART.........
Literally. I made up half the notes.
Before we started, I begged everyone to drown me out. But they didn't listen. So I played soft. Scarily soft.
And then I failed.
Yay.

why i should not do band next year

  • Certain drummers are annoying.
  • All my friends will get into advanced band and I'm not that good.
  • The teacher has mixed feelings about me.
  • Practicing takes a lot of time.
  • I lose my music too easily (giving it to other people...)
  • I don't want to wear a yellow tie.
  • I'd rather do Communication Arts or Woodshop. Or choir, if Anchal convinces me. (she tries, but she hasn't changed my mind...)
  • Half the time, the drummers have rests.
  • It's not like I actually have decent parts. (i officially do not like vibraphones.)
  • I don't want to take the same elective two years in a row. (french 1A and french 1B don't count)
  • Crash cymbals are dangerous weapons.
  • Everyone makes me put away all the stuff, so I'm usually late to my next class.
  • I know the kids who will become seventh grade drummers next year. Yikes.
  • Disgusting stuff sometimes turns up in the back of the room. >.< (people in my class know what it is)
  • There are too many drummers anyways, so why do we need another one? Especially one as bad as me.

i'm soooooo annoyed now

every time i turn around, my parents are all like "oh, you should go do 3498579032847 math problems or stuff like that."
i am completely annoyed with math.
it's so boring. i'd rather write stories (i'd do that anyways....) or do 2058093450934750 hours of music practice (not as likely) or run mile club every day for the rest of my life (ok, fine, so i was exaggerating).
my parents also overfeed me.
it's a wonder that i'm underweight, they feed me so much.
and just because my hair turns red from swimming, doesn't mean it's the end of the world.
i'm not going to quit swimming now that i've made the team.
i never get a second of privacy.
people always HAVE to be standing behind me, telling me to go do 3204985720934857 more math problems or wear horribly sharp and scary earrings or use disgusting and smelly hair oil.
my sister is the only person who doesnt act like this. but she has this annoying habit of agreeing with any and all adults.
so when someone tells me to go do math or wear earrings or etc., she says "yeah, its good for you and blah blah blah".
it's so annoying.
i want my own life for a change.
is that too much to ask for?
according to my parents, yes it is.

this is a pathetic blog

no one reads this except me.
i'm not kidding.
why should i even keep posting?!?!?
ugh.
when i started this, i never knew it would become so abandoned in just one year.

web applications are confuzzling

next year, im gonna do this thing called WEB where i have to help pixies get used to middle school. i have to write an essay about why i should do it (this is the reason half my friends aren't doing WEB). but i don't know what to put in it. compared to other kids, i laze around at home all day. i only have swimming and piano and foreign language classes and i might start dancing again soon (i know, its so hard to imagine a klutz like me dancing. but i was actually really good). everyone else has about 93248750823475 extracurricular activities.
maybe i can write about how my sis will be a pixie next year and i'm used to talking to people her age... i'm not sure about that either. i mean, my sis's classmates are pretty awesome to hang out with (lol, im such a loner), but she doesn't know everyone who's coming to my middle school next year. she's only popular in her elementary school.
annie/isa/anchal the cookie stalker and i were fighting over who should be our friend(aishu with the purple clarinet)'s webbie. i told her that she can have my sister in her web group if i get aishu.

ugh. the superbowl is on tv and it's sooooo pointless. it's just big fat guys chasing each other for a ball. i can't see how my dad and a lot of other people are so obsessed with this stuff. at least annie is coming to my house... we can completely goof off and play random computer games and screw up each other's WEB applications. that's always a lot of fun... XD

i can't sleep

ok. so i havent posted in a reeeeeally loooooong time. its ok. i never have time to go online as much anymore because i have (competitive! ha!) swimming every day and piano and etc etc etc.
you probably think i am mentally messed up for going online this early. look at the title. people are worried about me and say i'm an insomniac. but this is the first time this has ever happened. and to make things worse, i have cmea tomorrow. it's basically this band performance thingie and because my flute playing is terrible, i'm going to fail. yes, i'm such a pessimist. but if you heard my playing, you'd think it was horrible too, because it is.
ok, i know this is a pointless post. there's not really anything interesting to write about. life is so boring now.
