my amazing math project

Isn't it so pretty? It took me three days, and countless hours each day spent sewing and threading that stupid needle. And it's not due until Friday, but I just finished because I didn't want to take my supplies to school. I don't get why we had to sew in math. But it was actually kinda fun xD

The front, which is, apparently, the only side that matters.

The beautifully awesome back ;)

a random post :D

I have nothing better to do now.
And I haven't posted in forever.
Whatever, I'm posting now xD
Sigh. I'm chatting Vaish now
and she's in India being an eighth grader as of tomorrow
and I'm just this wimpy little sevie.
And she's 5 months younger than me.
Hm... I was gonna say something but I forgot...
Oh, yeah. I'm doing choir next year.
Advanced choir.
Because Anchal is forcing me.
If I don't get into band, I'm trying out for choir.
And if I don't get into choir (which will probably happen) I'm gonna do random electives! :D
Still, band people can be really awesome sometimes.
Jason the Oreo is in my jazz band class.
Thanks to him, I'll never say Oreo with a straight face again xD
And he forced me to do a flute/sax duet and I didn't squeak for a whole day :O
Yes, this fails.
Don't state the obvious ;)

why i am nervous

I have this thing called the TVU test today.
TVU = Tamil Virtual University. Basically, Tamil is this foreign language I'm learning and I'm at an "advanced" level so I have to do this extra course and take a test which is REALLY hard which is why I AM GOING TO FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!
But I still have issues with reading. I can speak and understand and write just fine, but reading is just so hard. There are so many letters you need to memorize. Like, there are 12 "vowels" (உயிர் எழுத்துகள்) and 18 "consonants" (மெய் எழுத்துகள்) and all the other letters are combinations of consonants and vowels. (உயிர்மெய் எழுத்துகள்). So that's 246 letters I need to know.
There are two letters for the "ra" sound (ர and ற) but the first one is "soft" and the second is "hard". And there are three "na" letters (ண, ந, and ன,) but the second one normally goes at the beginning of a word, and the first one is "hard" and the third AND second are "soft".
There's a lot of other stuff like that which I keep forgetting. Like, vowels can only go at the beginning of a word, not anywhere else. So if you have to combine two words and the second one starts with a vowel, you have to make a combination of the consonant "ya" (ய) and that vowel and put that in the middle of the word instead of the vowel.
Oh, and conjunctions are weird. There's no word for "and," but there's a suffix (um/உம் ) that goes at the end of each of the words you're joining (like in "the cat and the rat," the words would be "cat" + "rat") and based on the last letter of the words, you have to modify the suffix.
Basically, it's confusing and there are too many rules.
I'm gonna fail.

i got into web

Yay.
If you already forgot what WEB is, it's this thing where I have to help pixies get used to middle school.
So many of my best friends (Aishu the Trombone Butterfly, Leeya, Janvi, etc.) and my sis are gonna be pixies next year. That's why I wanted to do this whole WEB thing.
Sunny told me that it's all tiresome and pixies are hard to handle. Whatever. My sis is one of them. But she can be annoying =P

i wrote something!

YAY! I WROTE A STORY which isn't finished! yeah, i just love cliffhangers... xD

It’s so quiet that her heartbeat sounds like a loud bass drum in her chest. She doesn’t know how she got to this abandoned island. She doesn’t know who she is or where she came from. Her last memory is of complete darkness and a longing to get back home, wherever that is. She sees the ocean surrounding her. Should she try to swim to the nearest populated land? No, she’s only a frail little twelve-year-old girl who is too young to get eaten by the ferocious sharks that patrol these waters. But if only she had a raft… There aren’t many trees on this island. If there were trees, at least she could build a boat of some sort and find other people. ‘That’s just a distant dream,’ she thinks. ‘I’ll be stuck here for the rest of my life, abandoned and starving, with no recollection of anywhere but here." A single tear falls from her eye as she stares out to what might possibly be her home. Drying her eyes on her worn-out shirt, she walks closer to the center of the island. There's a human handprint, larger than her own, in the sand. An abandoned fire pit is found right next to it. "Someone's here," she thinks.

Hungry, tired, and thirsty, the girl explores her island home. It's not a very big patch of land, taking her only ten minutes to walk from one coast to the other. When she reaches the other coast, she's shocked: there's a huge cave, fully stocked with delicious fruits and fresh, purified water. She walks in and sits on the cold, hard floor, only to see someone walk out of it. It's definitely human, and when the shadow gets closer, she can tell it's another girl, a few years older than her. The stranger's eyes are an intense blue as they focus on the tired girl. "Who are you?" the stranger asks, in perfect English. "And what are you doing here?" The younger girl, finally remembering how to speak, replies, "I don't know who I am or why I'm stranded on this island." The older girl's glare softens, and she manages a smile. "All right, then. Just call me... Jane. It's a nice and normal-sounding name. I haven't needed a name for ages. I've been living on my own here for a while now, so it's nice to not be so lonely anymore. What can I call you? Kelly, maybe? Yes, you certainly look like a Kelly..." The younger girl likes the name Kelly, so she just nods her head quietly, mystified by Jane's suddenly loquacious manner.

Kelly and Jane end up getting along fairly well, but neither of them has any recollection of a place to call home. Kelly finds out that the handprint and fire pit she saw on her first day here aren't Jane's because the hand is too big to belong to her. 'Someone else is here. Someone who could be the kindliest person ever, or a menacing stranger. I sure hope it's not a menacing stranger...' Kelly says to herself. Her thoughts are interrupted by Jane's footsteps. "Kelly. I need to show you something right now. Follow me." Jane sounds slightly elated and slightly overwhelmed, but her eyes still sparkle mischievously. Kelly follows her only friend into the cave that they called their home for so long. "We don't know this island as well as we think we do, Kelly," Jane says quietly as she leads her into the depths of the cave. The girls walk through a labyrinth of twisting, menacing hallways. "I've never been this deep into the cave. I was starting to get.... scared. That's why I asked you to come with me. For some reason, you make me feel safe." Jane's whispering now, clutching Kelly's arm in the darkness as she navigates along the passages. They keep on walking until they come to a huge boulder. "Doesn't look like an ordinary boulder to me," whispers Jane. Kelly nods in agreement, attempting to pick up the giant rock. To her amazement, it's as light as paper. "It's no real rock, probably a decoy," she whispers to Jane, putting the false boulder aside. There's another passageway, and Kelly and Jane follow it. It's not very long, but there's something surprising at the end...

If you read my fail writing, congrats.
I'm supposed to be practicing but E flat is really bugging me so I took a break and wrote a story.
Sigh.
Everyone always says, "Wow! Percussion is, like, totally cool and stuff!" Well, it isn't. Face it. I either have really fast notes which are impossible or sooo many measures of rest.
Lucky wind instrument people.

i need a new story idea!

It's been so long since I wrote something and showed it to someone else.
I'm working on this story which I'll never type up or show to anyone. It's kinda... private.
I seriously need a new story that isn't so private or demented.
Once, I told a story idea to my sis. It was about a girl whose parents had been accidentally arrested.
My sis screamed "NOOO! I don't want Mommie and Daddy to get arrested! I HATE YOU!!!!!"
Seriously?!
It's. A. Freaking. Story.

cmea solo and ensemble festival (jenny should have gotten command performance!!!!!!)

IT WAS AWESOME!!!!! we got a superior!
That's because I played soft. REALLLY soft.
I practiced three times. Literally.
Volunteering was fun, though.
I had to "escort" people to their performance rooms.
There was this awesome little eighth grader with me.
We wandered around and stalked random pixies! :D
And then we went on a sugar high.
And then we drew on my music and destroyed it completely :)
Aarushi was there too.
It was really awesome.
I listened to Jenny and the random person perform.
She was amazing.
I'm surprised she didn't get Superior / Command Performance.
She only got Excellent because the other guy's reed wasn't good.
I'm going to tell everyone at school how awesome Jenny is. :D
She had a sparkly blue dress xD

cmea dress rehearsal

OK, it wasn't really a dress rehearsal because I wore normal clothes. :P
I MESSED UP SOOOOO BAD AND IT WAS IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE CLASS AND I HAD TO PLAY THIS ANNOYING TIMPANI PART.........
Literally. I made up half the notes.
Before we started, I begged everyone to drown me out. But they didn't listen. So I played soft. Scarily soft.
And then I failed.
Yay.
